Our Bar ATL's Edgewood Mural: "Until We Meet Again"

Updated: Mar 11, 2020

Friendship. We make this decision hoping to enrich and enhance the quality of our waking moments and to make life even more worth living. These friends certainly did that.

Photographer: @surfmilian (339 Edgewood Ave SE)

@OurBarATL's tribute mural painted on the property pays homage to local influential visionaries who we’ve lost over the years – @aubscene, @shaynannerz, @djspeakerfoxxx, @riadaddyo, @i.am.muna, @thefirstladyjuicecosanostra, and @therealkittywil. Their legacy lives on through what they loved – friendships. We knew them personally and loved them dearly, and we want you to know them as well. They were family we chose precisely because of who they were and what they meant to us. They've departed this world, but they leave behind the many cherished memories we created together.

In their loving memory, a memorial mural was born on our exterior wall on the corner of Edgewood Ave and Hilliard St in the historical Martin Luther King district of Old Fourth Ward. Privately commissioned and deeply personal, this mural celebrates the lives and passing of our loved ones. @Dr.Dax, a renowned local muralist and visual engineer, dedicates his work to his dearly departed friends, the "Fallen Women of ATL" and Edgewood locals.

Complex, loyal, and beautiful inside and out, @aubscene, @shaynannerz, @djspeakerfoxxx, @riadaddyo, @i.am.muna, @thefirstladyjuicecosanostra, and @therealkittywil were unforgettable in life and will remain so in passing. We commemorate this mural to not just our loved ones but also to yours. Come by and take a moment to remember the ones who left us too soon but not forever. Inspiring and meaningful, our "Until We Meet Again" mural marks a heartfelt step towards our opening in early spring of 2020.
